First post + CHANEL HAUTE COUTURE AW14

My first post! So exciting. To celebrate, i'm dedicating this post to one of my all time favorite brands - Chanel. CHANEL HAUTE COUTURE AW14 featured looks from the Fall-Winter 2014/15 collection. Structured silhouettes in a variety of hues were made dramatic with luxe embellishments in a variety of shades including exquisite golds and silvers. The coats are very feminine and sophisticated, fabrics ranging from beautiful tweeds, rich solid colours to magical embellishments and impeccable embroidery. Each coat is complimented by a simple skirt or shorts in a matching hue - letting the coat speak for itself.

The dresses are stunning - from floor lengths gowns to short classic silhouettes. Each look makes a very strong, dramatic impact. Hues of white, gold, silver, grey, light blue, red and classic black hit the runway and its not only the range of color but the diversity in length, fabric and detail that makes every piece individual. The extraordinary details, such as the use embroidery and embellishment, both on there own and together make each look stand out on its own.

I love this collection not simply because of its impeccable beauty, but because these looks are classic (and because the faux cropped hair is extremely cool). The designs display a regal influence but are still very modern and wearable. The colours shown in the collection are beautiful on everyone, and embellishment is a very stunning and easy way to add drama onto any outfit. Every woman needs structured classic pieces in her wardrobe - and a coat is a very easy way to acheive dramatic structure in a wearable fashion. And of course, nothing says the holidays better than gold and sliver. Adding one piece such as a beaded tank top with a pencil skirt or pants is an easy way of acheiving drama while still being casual. Or if you really want to embrace this glamorous look, cocktail dresses and gowns are widely available with the classic sparkle seen in this years collection.
